Work Out at Work – The Uplift Treadmill Desk

Uplift Treadmill Desk

Over the last few years, much has been made of data which suggests that sitting for long periods of time each day is bad for your body. A common sense suggestion is… stand up! But the makers of the Uplift Treadmill Desk have taken things one step further.

Uplift Treadmill Desk

The Uplift Treadmill Desk is a treadmill specifically made for use while working. It’s designed to be used while you’re pouring over important documents, sending emails, or on the phone with important clients. The beautiful part about it is that you can set it at a very low speed setting and still burn calories as you go about your day. If you’re the sort of person who feels they don’t have time to work out, this machine might change your mind. Once you get used to the concept of standing up and walking while you work, you can burn hundreds of calories over the course of the day without even getting out of breath. The treadmill comes with a specially-designed accompanying desk. It also sports a variety of helpful features including:

  • A control panel capable of tracking time, speed, distance, and calories burned
  • Blue tooth capability which allows you to display these fitness stats on your work computer monitor
  • Height adjustment which allows you to change the difficulty of the angle at which you walk
  • A very quiet motor which makes the treadmill practical even in a small, shared working environment

Although this treadmill isn’t cheap, it’s certainly an original and effective take on fitness improvement. If you’re willing to commit to walking while you work, we’ve got a feeling you may never turn back. This machine’s ability to help you burn calories and shed stress while at the office makes a yoga ball pale in comparison.

  2. i would LOVE one of these. but i feel like i should start with a standing desk… walking makes things even tougher
