There are several different types of cardio workouts, however if you’re a woman looking to to tone up and lose a couple pounds, there’s one specifically that could do wonders for you. The best cardio workout for women is elliptical training.

An elliptical is a stationary exercise machine that is used to give you the same type of work out as a treadmill would. With an elliptical, you are working your hip flexors, hamstrings, glutes, calves and quads. An elliptical usually has an adjustable ramp, that allows for a more strenuous work out. They usually also have adjustable handle bars, that can also improve your upper body strength. 

In order to see results from using an elliptical as part of your cardio workouts, you will need to do at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week. If you train often on an elliptical, it is just a matter of time before you begin developing muscle strength as well as better endurance.
