Sit on the floor in front of the foam roller with your knees bent. Slowly ease yourself backward onto the foam roller, keeping your hips and glutes off the floor. Roll backward carefully, using your legs to propel you. Roll to the furthest extent, allowing the foam roller to slide down toward the center of your back, and then reverse the motion to bring it back up toward your shoulders. You may feel your back crack.
