Stretches That Just Feel Good

Stretches are good for you and can keep you limber and able to work out to your maximum, but stretches also sometimes just feel really good. We have all rolled out of bed and stretched, enjoying every minute of it or gotten up from our desk and stretched, feeling alive again as things clicked and popped back into place. The following are a few stretches that just feel great.

Hip Flexor Stretch

This stretch is amazing for those that sit for long periods of time. To start, stand with your hands straight up in line with your shoulders. Place one foot behind you with your heel off the ground and bend the other knee to bring it down to a gentle lunge position. Lean up and back slightly until you feel the stretch in your hips and pelvis.

Glute and Leg Stretch

If you have done intense lower body workouts or cardio, this stretch may help to ease the soreness in your legs and glutes. To start, lie down on your back with your knees bent. Take your right foot and place it on top of your left knee, then bring your left knee up to your chest as close as possible. Hug your knee to get the best stretch. Switch sides and repeat.

Spine Stretch

This stretch may help to bring your vertebrae back into alignment and ease minor back pains. To start, lie on your back and bring your knees up to your chest. Hug your knees gently and rock from left to right slowly. You should feel your vertebrae separate as the floor massages your back. If desired, this stretch can also be done in bed before going to sleep or immediately after waking up.
