Trapeze and Core Strength

While many think of trapeze as something that will work the arms, beginners are often surprised to find that it is the core that gets worked the most. Core strength is necessary in order to do many of the most basic moves, so beginners usually have to do supplementary core exercises as they learn the moves, so that they can build the strength required to move forward. While trapeze can help you to build core strength, most beginners wish to move faster, so they end up doing core exercises on the days that they are not doing trapeze.

Warm Ups and Cool Downs

Warm ups and cool downs are very necessary when doing trapeze workouts. The muscles must be warmed up to be able to lift and hold the weight of your body. Without warm ups, the risks of falls and pulled muscles increase greatly, as trapeze often moves the body in unconventional ways. Cool downs help you to stretch it all back out, relieving tenseness that sometimes builds from the unusual maneuvers and stretching the body back out.

Infusing Fun Into Workouts

Trapeze is fun and out of the ordinary from regular workouts. Since each session is a learning session, the classes themselves are motivators, as attendees aspire to be able to perform increasingly complex moves. The weightless feeling and stretching is often described as a stress release and even a “high,” so beginners often find themselves hooked after a class or two.
