Use Your Own Body Weight to Build Your Strength

If you are trying to get the most out of your lower body strength you will want to start with the upright calf raise using your own body weight. many people get a little worried when they use their own body weight as their lifting weight because they may be too overweight in their eyes.

To begin this exercise you need to stand straight with the balls of your feet rested on the edge of a step. While keeping your body completely straight press with the ball of your feet and then lift your heels as high as you can. while you are lifting, count off until you get to four. Then replace your feet back to their original placement. Once you do sets of 10 going upwards, you will want to switch to downwards. You place your feet in the same position, but to press your heels down and count off to four, instead of bringing them up. Do a set of ten of those and then rest.
